Maison O'Neill on Summer, Tropical (like) Neighbourhood Park

When I am not wondering around acting like a forever tourist, I work full time, Monday to Friday. I am not a workaholic (I think), but I must say that I love my job and always look forward for Monday to come. However, to prevent my bum from getting flat by sitting that long hour of work, I take a walk on lunch time at the park across the street; La Maison O'Neill. It is one of the first home of the Irish immigrants in Quebec dated from the 1800. The house was occupied by the O'Neill family till early 90s. Nowadays the house or maison as we say it in French, is used as an exposition place and the (cheesus huge) backyard has become a neighbourhood park and jogging track.

At the back of the house, there are paths to walk along a river. Now this gets to the interesting part; on summer, the river looks sooo much like a tropical river. To mess up with your mind a bit, guess which river is which: One is the river at the back of this house and the other is the river in Lembongan Bali from my previous trip.

See, see! You almost can't tell them apart, can you? well, the first pic was taken at the back of the house. Now you get what I meant by calling it a tropical river, don't you. But the best feature of this park is the huge gazebo they have right at the back of the house.

Usually on beautiful days, the park will have music shows on the gazebo and other activities. you can do picnic here too, either bring your own mat or on the park's benches. You can also rent the gazebo for your occassion. This park is reachable by city bus and also equipped with a pretty big parking lot. Lure everyone on your contact list with chips and cheap beers to gather in this park on a sunny day and you are ready to throw your pyramid scheme on massive scale. Good luck!
